The Refugee Council of Australia has released an excellent report titled State of the Nation: Refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia. Like the Bishops' 2015-16 Social Justice Statement, the Refugee Council study covers all stages of the perilous journeys of refugees, from displacement and flight from persecution, to settlement in communities. In his encyclical on nuclear proliferation, the Pope explains that conflicts 'should not be resolved by recourse to arms, but rather by negotiation'.
