This month marks the tenth anniversary of the Australian Parliament's Apology to the Stolen Generations. It was a moment of solidarity and empathy that could be shared by everybody who heard it. 1802f13 February 2008 - Australian Government Apology to Stolen Generations

The Stolen Generations were the children of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent who were removed from their families by the Australian Federal and State government agencies and church missions, under acts of their respective parliaments. On 11 December 2007, the newly installed Labor Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, announced that the government would make an apology to Indigenous Australians, the wording of which was decided in consultation with Aboriginal leaders.
