The ACSJC Secretariat is set to return to full strength with the appointment of Dermot Dorgan and Marg Zucker as Research and Projects Officers.

The position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer has been redesignated Research and Projects Officer to more accurately describe the nature of the role. Marg and Dermot will job-share the position.

'Between them Dermot and Marg bring a wealth of experience, skills and expertise to the job. I look forward to working with them. Together with our Administrative Assistant, Maureen Murphy and myself, Marg and Dermot will form a new team to positively address the ACSJC's Charter,' said ACSJC CEO Sandie Cornish.

'Dermot will be well known to many in social justice and development circles. He has worked in the area of the social mission of the Church for the past fifteen years, initially with Australian Catholic Relief (now Caritas Australia) and more recently with the Mercy Foundation. We will appreciate having a Biblical scholar, singer, song-writer and poet on the team to give us a creative edge!

'Marg's commitment to social justice issues developed during a seventeen year career in teaching and administration at Loreto College Normanhurst where she helped develop the school community's consciousness of social justice issues. Since leaving the school she has worked as an editor, writer and researcher. Marg was involved in the preparation of the pastoral statement Common Wealth for the Common Good and also last year's Social Justice Sunday Statement.

'The Church has consistently taught that work is for people rather than people for work. Modelling flexible and innovative working arrangements is one practical way in which Church agencies like us can promote this principle', she concluded.
