Not a Time to Look After Ourselves Only
Bishop Vincent Long, Chair of the Commission for Social Justice - Mission and Service, encourages us all to care for each other and be protectors of life like St Joseph by “not doing anything that might spread the virus to others with whom we live in community”. Further, we need to “listen to our medical experts and not to conspiracy theorists who use any crisis to profiteer or stir up hatred and division”.

Good Friday & the Death Penalty
On Good Friday we remember the crucifixion of Jesus together with two criminals. Today the death penalty is still used in many countries for the punishment of crimes. On 11 May 2018, Pope Francis approved a revision of the Catechism of the Catholic Church concerning the death penalty. The Church now teaches that the death penalty is unacceptable and should be abolished.
