Building bridges: Social Justice Statements from 1988 to 2013On behalf of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, the ACSJC is proud to announce the publication in book form of the collected Social Justice Statements issued by Australia’s Catholic Bishops from 1988 to 2013.

The title of the collection is Building Bridges: Social Justice Statements from Australia’s Catholic Bishops 1988 to 2013. The title recalls words used by Pope Francis in describing the social mission of the Church.

The Statements are presented in an attractive and readable format and the book is fully indexed, making it an exceptional resource for anyone who wants to know about Catholic social teaching and this important aspect of the life of the Catholic Church in Australia.

It shows how over the past decades Australia’s Bishops have addressed the themes of poverty and affluence, tolerance and racism, peace and violence, and care for our environment. In particular, they have constantly returned to the issues of justice for our Indigenous brothers and sisters, for refugees and asylum seekers, and for those who are marginalised and disadvantaged.

Copies will be on sale for $35 each, including postage anywhere in Australia.
