Jesus’ command to “love your neighbour as yourself” (Mark 12:31) resounds as a timeless imperative to seek the well-being of all, especially those suffering in conflict zones like Gaza. Embracing in full measure the teachings of Jesus to stand with the oppressed and marginalised while loving our enemies, our resolute demands must always be based in nonviolence: An immediate bi-lateral ceasefire, the release of all the hostages and those held in Israeli detention, the full restoration of UNRWA funding and an end to unrestricted arms transfers to Israel.
Every child deserves a future free from fear and violence, every family deserves the chance to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
