Season of Creation

  • by

1 September – 4 October is the Season of Creation. A worldwide coalition of Christian churches organises and runs this global event which calls for all to pray and act to protect our common home, or God’s Oikos.

The theme for this year is “A Home for All? Renewing the Oikos of God”. An Oikos is a Greek concept of family and their place of belonging. All Christians are urged to celebrate the season and go beyond their denomination.

“As followers of Christ from around the globe, we share a common role as caretakers of God’s creation. We see that our wellbeing is interwoven with its wellbeing. We rejoice in this opportunity to care for our common home and the sisters and brothers who share it.”

A resource to plan and participate including prayer services, analysis of the theme and media assets is available: For continual updates and information go to www.seasonofcreation.org
