NATSICC Assembly – Holy Spirit in This Land

The logo for the NATSICC Assembly in is the middle of the screen with a deep blue background that looks like the night sky. The emblem is an Aboriginal painting with a red and orange snake forming a circle and a white bird features prominently.

The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council (NATSICC) is holding its National Assembly this week in Townsville.

The theme for this assembly is “Holy Spirit In this Land!”

“The NATSICC Assembly marks the culmination of the current NATSICC Council’s term and provides an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics (and those working alongside us) to come together to celebrate faith and culture.”

The Assembly includes talks, yarning circles, masses, expos and stalls and a specific youth event running in parallel.

Themes covered include Laudato Si’ – Caring for Creation, the Uluru Statement from the Heart and Aboriginal Spirituality.

This is an in-person event and is not available online, however, the presentations and videos will be made available within a week or two of the completion of the assembly for all the view.

It is a wonderful event with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics are able to share in each other’s company, share their knowledge and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander spirituality.
