A Laudato Si’ Inspired Conference: Our Ocean Home

A picture of a tropical island and the surrounding water from above. Beautiful dark blue water changes to vibrant aqua around the small green island.

Experience a synodal process of storytelling, reflection, practical theology, scientific exploration and dialogue from across Oceania in preparation for the 2023 Federation of Catholic Bishops’ Conferences of Oceania (FCBCO) Assembly in Fiji. In the spirit of walking together, this regional event is open to all.  Please ‘register’ for the purpose of 1) distilling integral threads by listening to the diverse voices of creation and the diverse cultures of people in Oceania who are offering a platform to share their stories and amplify vulnerable voices so that they are heard by decision makers at local, regional and global levels both in and outside of the church. 2) Catalysing and generating new voluntary commitments for ocean care and action from all Catholics and the ecumenical church movement in Oceania. This online conference is sponsored by the Australian Catholic University and supported by the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, and led by the FCBCO Suva Secretariat. Interpreters of Auslan, French and local languages will be available to enable accessibility and participation for all.
